Will your job burn you out?
Wouldn’t it be nice to find a stress-free job? It would also be nice to win the lottery. Finding a low stress job will probably end up stressing you out. There are ways you can reduce your work stress so you don’t end up burnt out on your job. Stress effects your life negatively, not just your mental health, but also your physical health. There are simple things you can do to avoid having a melt down during customer service training.
Make sure you know what is required of you. A lot of the times at work employees take on a lot of extra work because they feel that is what they need to do to get ahead, and maybe eventually get that promotion. However, if your work quality suffers because you are biting off more than you can chew, that can affect you negatively.
Figure out you emotional state. When was the last time you sat down and decided how you felt about your job? Yes, it’s easy to say you hate the stupid leadership development courses, but overall how does it make you feel? Sit down and think about if there is anything that you wish you were getting out of your job that you are not currently. The person in charge of your success is you. And what your employer thinks you want and what you actually want can be two very different things.
Figure out what stresses you out. Most people can’t separate their home and work life, so they carry over stress from their job home. Think about how you deal with stress. Do you take it out on others or do you have the necessary tools to compartmentalize it and move on with the rest of your life?
