If you live in Timonium, Maryland and are remodeling you have have been wondering where you should go to talk to experts in a variety of fields. There is one place you have to go for one of the hardest and most defining features of any house, and that is the window treatments in the house. Most people put something up and forget about it, but the next time you change out your blinds you will see just what a difference it really makes in the design of a room.
There are a number of reasons you would decide to change out your current window coverings, but there is a type of blind for any of them, and there is a place to look at large numbers of them. Next Day Blinds has a showroom in Timonium that is filled with windows treatment experts, as well as more window coverings than you could have imagined existed. Their factory is local and they have a number of great services that you would be surprised by. Because they make all blinds to order they are happy to dispatch someone to your house and do a free in home consultation that includes measuring your windows for the exact fit for your coverings. They also know the best ways to cover unusual windows that the rest of us don’t really know what do to with, such as corner windows which are beautiful, but are hard to find great coverings for.
When the blinds are done, usually the next day, as per the name, they even have people who will come to your house and install the blinds for you. This removes the stress of trying to figure out how to install the blinds in front of the windows, something that can be hard for some people if they chose something like wooden shutters. If you don’t decide to take their help, they still make their blinds as easy to install as they can and provide a number of assurances including a seven year assurance that they will fix any problems with a set of blinds you bought from them in your house at a time that works for you, instead of you having to take the blinds to the store to get them fixed.
If you want to go there, it is really easy to find. They are in the Foxtail shopping center, and google gives a pretty good map and directions to their showroom.
03.9.10How to Research Company Values
For many people, getting hired is great, but how people spend their money and what company they work for shows what values are supported. This can make a lot of people edgy about sending out resumes without consideration of these things. Finding information on a company can seem a little daunting, and the truly concerned may want to do more research than checking out the company’s LinkedIn account, although this can be a great place to start. This will give you a place to start for the next steps.
Finding the heads of the company on Linked in is rarely hard. Google searching news articles is a great place to get started, use the business name, but also search for just the names of the board of directors or the head of the company can give you a good idea of what they are spending their money on. You can also do a search and find the spending of the company. While most of it will be normal things like supplies, and paying employees, there will also be expenses that you may not recognize. Often spending on political campaigns in the past and charitable donations will probably be in these expenses that you don’t recognize.
If you aren’t worried about the ethical practices of the management of a company, you may want to at least look into the Better Business Bureau review of the company to find out if they are going to be a company you can stand behind in terms of service and product satisfaction. If a company treats clients badly, it is usually a sign that they will treat employees badly as well. Unfortunately this does not go in reverse. If all things check out, you may want to even take a few extra moments to search for new products that have recently come out. Knowing enough about a company to speak knowledgeably about them and their product line can be a big bonus when you apply for the job.
10.26.09Public Markets in Baltimore
One of the best things to do in when traveling is to check out the local farmers markets. Not only will you find local produce, delicious and abundant, you will also get a better grasp on the people of the city, the merchants, the street performers and the artists. I booked a room at one of the recommended luxury hotels of Baltimore with my friend. We freshened up and headed out. There are six public markets in the city of Baltimore. There are florists and butchers with stalls just next to vendors of some of the best food from around the world.
We started at the Lexington Market, the most well known and the oldest of the markets. Here live music happens every day, at all hours, and there were just about one hundred and fifty different stalls where you could find everything from candy, to fresh crabs, to scarves and jewelry. We then headed to the Cross Street Market. This was a much smaller market but the vibe was one that was influenced by the people of the neighborhood. This is a traditional meeting spot for those in the area and we had a great meal of fresh seafood at Nick’s Inner Harbor Seafood restaurant.
We decided to fore go the Broadway market, as we had heard that it was mostly food vendors and dessert makers, and being that we had just eaten, we would have to save that market for another day. However we found that our trips on full bellies to the Northeast Market and to Hollins Market were tortuous, as many of the stalls located in both are geared towards food, very great look food, but again, at this point we were looking for more art, more cool purses and scarves.
We found what we wanted at the Avenue Market. There were many food vendors, but here you could also find everything from a high tech cell phone to the old testament. And we found our art, on tee-shirts, on hats and even on some canvas. The tour we took that day of the markets of Baltimore was a whirlwind of sight-seeing, very good food, and a very nice hat to top it all off.
